 WHAT IS A DISTANCE EDUCATION (DE)?
Distance education is a special educational know-how, which has appeared in the result of interrelation of the following five factors:
Shears in the hierarchy of life values - a good education is more and more appreciated;
Increase of necessity of the modern labor market in the highly professional and competent specialists;
Dynamism of the modern life, which makes the professionals to actively move both in a room and up the social stairway;
Globalization and internationalization of the modern labor-, know-how and services market;
Scientifically - technological progress, which has permitted to introduce the modern communication and information-processing means into educational processes.
DISTANCE COURSES
In the most general view the analysis of distance course represents the following:
Intensive and regular combined work on texts,
Operation with additional information resources,
Problem solving, accomplishment of written works,
Passing a serial of monitoring measures.
The courses are not on the traditional semester examination, but on a serial of works of a practical nature, inducing not to learn the texts but to master the information creatively and actively. The following obligatory kinds of work are foreseen:
designed in such manner, so that you could not only remember the information, but could also link it with real life or professional situations. A key factor of rating the level of mastering the course is not your capacity to reproduce the text of a lecture (or the text of a textbook). In DE the main thing is - to show how is the obtained knowledge realized. Therefore, a stress here is made
Working with the texts of the distance lectures, textbooks and materials, other informational resources.
Current monitoring.
Discussions (a virtual seminar) and analysis of particular professional situations (case - study)
Written work (or works).
Level testing.
Final examination.

Our college is in the process of elaborating the distance education course. After a site of the distance education is launched, the students will be able to study distantly at their free time.
